This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:
Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)
…or something like this:
The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickeys to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.

November 2013 the National Association for Black Veterans, Inc. established a 501 (c)(3) non-profit chapter in Delaware. This Delaware affiliate became the ninety-fourth (94th) chapter to join the national umbrella. With original intentions to serve the needs of minority veterans, NABVETS quickly realized a greater need and opened its doors to all veterans.
Annually, Delaware Chapter 94 hosts a fundraising Thanksgiving dinner to raise awareness for veteran issues, connect disadvantaged veterans with an array of community resource, and secure sponsorship for the organization’s programs.
This year’s Anniversary Dinner is held at Kingswood Community Center – 2300 Bower Street; Wilmington, Delaware on November 17, 2017 at 6:00pm.
Bethel AME Church Sons of Allen Men’s Ministry & Delaware Community Foundation
In 2007 the Bethel AME Church Sons of Allen Men’s Ministry recognized that there was a significant need for positive male role models to serve as a resource and guide in the development of the girls and young ladies in our community. The logical focus was to start at home with our own daughters by creating a formal event to make our daughter feel special, exemplify our love for them, showcase how they should be valued and how they should value themselves. Thus was the birth of the annual Father Daughter Dinner Dance “An Evening of Elegance,” now in its 10th year.

Just over nine years ago, the owners of Black Visionary Designers Barber Salon located 223 W. 8th Street, felt they could do more than just provide haircuts. They decided to start a coat drive, first asking local residents and businesses for new or slightly worn coats. Every year since 2008, more than one thousand coats have been donated to this endeavor.
The Barber salon, Black Visionary Designers is now solely owned by Terrone Warren. Warren, who grew up in Wilmington, is compelled to give back to the community. He says, “People are less fortune and a lot of us are unaware of the magnitude of their suffering. The feeling of giving is priceless.”
There are many barber shops in the city of Wilmington, but not many focus on helping the community. Black Visionary Designers holds an annual shoe drive for Easter, sponsors free community dinners, turkey giveaways for Thanksgiving, Community Unity Days and Chess Tournaments. The barber salon also gives $5 haircuts to students going back to school.
In 2008, one lady said, “I didn’t have money to buy my three kids anything for Christmas this year and the three coats really helped.” The coat and jacket drive makes a big impact in the community. The coat drive says a lot for owner and the city of Wilmington, DE.
Terrone wants to make a positive difference in the City of Wilmington. He wants to shine a light on the increasing violence occurring in Wilmington. A resident since birth, Terrone wants to see positive things taking place in the city he calls home.
For the 9th Annual Coat Drive, Warren realizes having coats for Christmas is important and says, “It’s not just about making money by giving haircuts. We are in need of new and slightly used coats and jackets again.”
“No, we are not rich,” says Warren, “but we believe in giving back. So let’s clear out some space and give to those less fortunate.”
