This past Saturday, August 5th Delaware-based non-profit Duffy’s Hope, founded by former Harlem Globetrotter Allen “Duffy” Samuels, presented its 15th Annual Celebrity Basketball Game in the Bob Carpenter Center at the University of Delaware. Fans and supporters enjoyed a fun-filled evening of friendly competition between celebrities, local community leaders, and former basketball players. Celebrities players and guests were Ray J (Singer & TV Personality), Jackie Long (Actor, formerly of “ATL”), Angela Yee (Media Personality for Power 105.1’s “The Breakfast Club”), Bobb’e J. Thompson (Actor, formerly of “That’s So Raven”), Christian Keyes (Actor, of TV show “Saints & Sinners”), Matt OX (Rapper), Tammy Townsend (Actress, currently of “KC Undercover”) and Tammy Brawner (Actress & First female Harlem Globetrotter).
Prior to tip-off, VIP ticket holders were able to experience a private celebrity meet and greet receiving autographed paraphernalia and exclusive selfies with the celebrity guests. During halftime local dance troupes performed center court, entertaining the crowd while players were able to rest from an intense first-half. One of the main highlights of the halftime was the performance from Philadelphia native Matt Ox and the presentation of Hometown Heroes awards to Priest Tyaire (Writer, Actor & Director), Derrick D. Reed (owner of “Image Barber Lounge” & professional barber) and Stephon Torrence (owner of and co-principal of Jock Hall the Agency). After a competitive and historic game, the White team took home another win.
