Citing his lifelong dedication to public service and strong leadership, Rich Krett (D) announces his candidacy for the office of New Castle County Executive. Krett filed the required paperwork with the State of Delaware Department of Election on Tuesday, February 14th.
“My commitment to public service started at the age of 16 when I joined my local volunteer fire company. It was here that I learned the true meaning and value of community service. As a paramedic, I have seen how service excellence can impact the individual lives of those using or receiving county services, and improve the overall quality of life in our community,” Krett said.
“We live in difficult times. Our county government is suffering at the hands of elected leaders who are more concerned with their own interests rather than the interests of those they were elected to serve. Ongoing questions regarding ethics continue to raise doubt and undermine the public trust. I want to end those doubts and restore faith in the New Castle County government,” Krett said.
“I have always believed that the foundation of effective public service is one built upon trust, ethical principles, with open and active communication. I am committed to restoring and building upon that foundation,” says Krett.
Krett is vying for the Democrat nomination, which will be determined in the September 2012 primary election. He has devoted his entire life to public service and the citizens of New Castle County. A native Delawarean and life-long resident of New Castle County, Richard lives with his wife Deborah in Middletown.
