At the January 11, 2012 board meeting, Wilmington Renaissance Corporation’s (WRC) Board of Directors elected three new board members and welcomed three new representatives of existing companies on the board.

The new board members include Michael Gallagher of Aloysius, Butler & Clark; Jerry DuPhily of TSN Media; and Derek Newton of World Cafe Live at The Queen.

“We are excited and pleased to welcome the new companies and individuals to our Board of Directors,” said Sylvia Banks, Board Chair. “They are all pillars in the community with a vested interest in the success of Wilmington, specifically the Downtown. With their new enthusiasm and fresh perspectives, we will continue to make great strides in the revitalization of Downtown Wilmington.”

In addition to the individuals who were elected as new Board of Director members, three individuals have taken seats at the table as new representatives of board companies. The representatives include Medhi Kholafaie of Bank of America, Timothy McLaughlin of the Delaware Economic Development Office and Cheryl Murphy of ING DIRECT.

“WRC is grateful to the long-standing commitment and support the companies have given to our board,” Banks said. “We welcome the new representatives and look forward to the many contributions they can bring to the progress of our city.

”Besides the addition of the new members, the WRC Board of Directors also elected the Executive Committee as a continuation of their board terms. The committee includes Sylvia Banks, Government Affairs & Corporate Contributions Manager at DuPont, as Board Chair; Dr. Robert Laskowski, M.D., President & CEO of Christiana Care Health System, and Clint Walker, Chief Administrative Officer of Barclays, as Board Vice Chairs; Carrie W.
