“New Castle County is where I grew up and where I raised my family. This is where I have lived my life and followed my family's tradition of community-based public service. I know what this county is, I know what it has been, and I know what it can still become,” Shahan said.

“Together we can put an end to personal agendas, questionable ethics, political patronage and private interests being served over the needs of our citizens. Together we can put in place a government that has a high priority on providing the critical services that our citizens need and a government that stops spending our tax dollars to create non-essential positions and filling them as political favors,” Shahan said.

“I intend for this campaign to be positive and to provide the voters with honest, clear and proven facts in an effort to educate them and shed light on how necessary it is for immediate change,” Shahan said.

Shahan is vying for the Democrat nomination, which will be determined in the September 2012 primary election. He has devoted his entire life to serving his community and citizens of New Castle County.

A native Delawarean and life-long resident of New Castle County, Bill Shahan, Jr. grew up in the Wilmington area. Bill has been married to his wife, Kim for 23 years. Their children and grandchildren all live in New Castle County.
