Unity Day was started 4 years ago by Michael McCline, Matthew Williams, Herb Sheldon and Terrone Warren as a collaborative effort focused on the desire to do something positive for students within the Wilmington community. The primary goal is to bring the community together to focus on education, help combat violence and provide support to children and their families. After the initial Unity Day event in 2010, Terry Beasley, Behavior Specialist at Eastside CharterSchool joined the planning team, as he wanted to help support this endeavor as it related to education and has been instrumental in its success.
