Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., State of Delaware is pleased to host its first Finer Womanhood Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser to benefit the Althea W. Armstrong Scholarship Fund. The Applebee’s restaurant in Middletown, DE will be the co-host of this family fun event on Saturday, February 18, 2012 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The Althea W. Armstrong Scholarship Fund (AWA) is geared toward young ladies with the potential for academic success. Young ladies with a grade point average of 2.7 and above are eligible to apply. “The organization believes that success starts within. Accepting applicants with a 2.7 or above allows us the opportunities to reach young ladies with great potential who are often overlooked,” said Lisa Lindsey, Delaware State Director.”  The first scholarship from the AWA Scholarship Fund will be awarded later this year.

Family and friends are invited to join the Zetas of Delaware celebrate Finer Womanhood month, which is one of the organizations founding principles. Applebee’s is located at 320 Dove Run Centre Boulevard in Middletown DE 19709. Tickets are $10 per adult and $8 per child 10 & under. About Althea W. Armstrong

Althea W. Armstrong has been a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority for over 50 years serving as an example for many women in and out of the organization. Armstrong is a widowed mother of two sons and five grandchildren, and has been a member of the Whatcoat United Methodist Church since 1963. Armstrong is an avid reader who enjoys traveling, swimnastics, and learning new technology; she is also a member of the Red Hat Society and serves on the board for the Delaware March of Dimes.
