Yesterday (Martin Luther King Jr. Day), supporters of the Afro American Historical Center movement rallied across from City Hall at Peter Spencer Plaza in WIlmington, Delaware. The Afro American Historical Center supporters were protesting the awarding of $ 1million dollar grant given to the Delaware Historical Society to develop a center for an Afro American Museum. Many feel that this is slap in the face of the black community and its leadership. Former Mayor Jim Sills is President of the black run group who submitted a proposal to the City of Wilmington and was denied access to these funds.
