In response to an increasing need for assistance during the holiday season due to the economy and job losses, Bliss Elements Salon & Spa is organizing a consignment sale dubbed “Big-Hearted, Beautiful & Fashionable” to benefit a local family during the holiday season. Co-owner Sherell Flagg, a renowned fashionista, and her fabulous friends and contacts have donated fabulous gently used clothing for boys, girls, tweens and plus-size women and the list is growing! Clothing, coats, accessories, jewelry and more will be sold for prices ranging from $5 to $20 with all money benefiting a local family.
Owners Sherell and Michael Flagg are committed to giving back to the community but recognized that they would have to get creative to come up with a way to get everyone involved since charity donations have diminished this year. Last year they sponsored a coat drive and donated gift items to a local family identified by their salon’s guests. This year they wanted to find an opportunity to again support a family but at the same time benefit others that may be looking for shopping alternative during this pressing economic time. They felt a consignment sale would be the perfect fit for the giver, the shopper and ultimately for a family in need. Sherell worked with a local church to identify a family to sponsor and put the plans in motion quickly in order to hold the event and shop so the family will have gifts under the tree on Christmas morning.
The benefit sale will take place on Saturday, December 10th at 6:00 p.m. at the salon which is located at 2400 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19805. The salon is currently accepting donations of gently used items. For more information, please contact Sonji Hubbard at 302.543.5469 or online at
