Since its creation nine years ago, the founders of Black Visionary Designers Barber Salon understood the importance of giving back to their local community. The owners not only wanted to become positive role models, they wanted to create a lasting relationship within the Wilmington community. In their endeavor to form this relationship, the owners of Black Visionary Designers Barber Salon decided to start an Easter Shoe Drive. They reached out to local residents and businesses for new or slightly used shoes and sneakers. The response has been overwhelming, since 2009 over a two thousand pairs of shoes and sneakers have been donated to this endeavor. The owner of Black Visionary Designers Barber Salon will once again give back to the community on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at their Annual Easter Shoe Drive.

Locally owned by Terrone Warren, he wanted to make a difference in a community steeped in crime and violence. His vision is to serve as positive and productive role model who can be a guiding force in ensuring positive outcomes are taking place in and around the community in which he not only works, but spends most of his life.

Easter has traditionally been a holiday associated with a new beginning. What better way to help those less fortunate by lifting their spirit during the Easter holiday season! “We will keep supporting our community in any way possible. It is not just about us and what we do as professionals. It is about the community and what we can offer to them in addition to providing them a service”, says owner, Terrone Warren.

In addition to the Easter Shoe Drive, Black Visionary Designers Barber Salon also sponsors $5 haircuts to students during September as part of its back to school event, an Annual Unity Day at Eastside Charter School, Chess Tournaments, a Thanksgiving Turkey Drive in November, and a Christmas Coat Drive in December while continuing to volunteer time for various community outreach events.

Please, let’s clear out some space in our closets and give to those less fortunate while helping Black Visionary Designers Barber Salon support their community! Participation is easy. Call or email for pick-up or drop off at the salon at your convenience.
