Valentine’s
Day is a day to celebrate love. Whether you are married, single, divorced,
widowed, separated, or split up; you too can celebrate and enjoy yourself
on this day of love! Valentine’s Day isn’t just for couples.
How is that possible? Let me explain.
There are three types of “loves” which are Eros, Philos, and
Agape. Most people base Valentine’s Day on the Eros type of love.
Eros love is based on the romantic, physical, sexual (and so forth) aspect
of relationships. It’s rather the most self centered of all three.
That’s why it’s the lowest of all three as well. Relationships
based on Eros love alone never lasts unless it progresses to a higher
level, either Philos or Agape.
Philos love is the second highest love based around friendships and
family. It can be between friends, family, co-workers, etcetera; it’s
the mental and mutual love. Agape is the unconditional and spiritual love;
the love given regardless if any benefit is received. Agape being the
highest of all three is the best of all!
If you first base you Valentine’s Day around Agape, then Philos,
then lastly Eros, you are bound to have a fantastic day! If you base your
Valentine’s Day around Agape and Philos loves, then you are bound
to have an equally pleasing day. Below are some tips to make your day
fun and full of life regardless if you’re single.
• Don’t go out alone. Call
a friend or family member to hang with. Go to church. Devote yourself
to share love with the world (Agape). Visit a local children’s hospital
and pass out candy and teddy bears.
• Host a Valentine’s Day party
for singles!
• Do something special for yourself!
Pamper yourself to a special treat of your liking! If possible, bring
a friend or family member to join you.
• Plan a single’s night out on
the town. Invite some friends, family members, and / or some co-workers
to some dinner and dancing.
• Check your local papers and internet
for activities
Valentine’s Day is a day of love. Valentine’s Day is for everybody!
