P.U.S.H. Entertainment Brings Performing Arts To Inner City Wilmington

P.U.S.H. Entertainment is the umbrella, and management component, for several spin-off companies, all focused on delivering events of the performing arts. Ebony Wilmore and her husband Gerald, owners of P.U.S.H., produce and direct all the plays at various venues around the area. The P.U.S.H. Theatre School in downtown Wilmington has two acting courses for students of all ages. Course I for Beginning Acting is offered in the fall and Course II in the spring, for eight weeks each.

Ebony loves being able to bring the performing arts to the inner city of Wilmington. She may seem calm when you first meet her, but quickly begins to speak excitedly about sharing her talent and the talent of her students to churches in the area. Many of these churches number in the hundreds and even thousands of members. Ebony cannot see herself doing anything else in life, and it is her contribution to the community at the same time. How wonderful to be doing something you love that enriches the lives of others along the way.

Music and the performance arts are in Ebony’s genes. She grew up with two musical parents, both of whom now write screenplays. The P.U.S.H. performing ensemble is Ebony’s passion in life and the drive behind the ambitious schedule she keeps. She just finished her May-December 2008 Spoken Word for the Broken Road tour and is already planning the next. An album of the new tour will be out spring 2009. P.U.S.H. is growing very quickly and will soon debut a radio talk show regarding the arts.

The City of Wilmington funds the P.U.S.H. Theatre School for inner city children. There are other programs for multiple members of a family. If you have a little ham in the family or you wish to be part of this exciting organization and want more information about how to register for the acting school, call Gerald Wilmore at 302-507-9630.
