WHAT: Gerald Levert Birthday and LeVert
II CD Release Party. WHEN: Friday, July 17, 2009 Meet and Greet from 8:00pm – 9:00pm WHERE: The Crystal Center WHY: In 1984, in Cleveland, Ohio, Gerald Levert, Sean Levert and Marc Gordon formed the group LeVert. Between 1985 and 1997, LeVert released 8 albums, 6 of which placed top 10 on the US R&B charts with 5 of them crossing over to top the US POP charts. During the same period, LeVert released 22 singles, all of which topped the US R&B charts. In November 2006, while planning a LeVert reunion, the group lost the elder Levert, Gerald who died unexpectantly at the age of 40. The group continued with their reunion plans, recording the CD “Dedication” with new member Blaq Rose, dedicated to lost member Gerald. While planning to release “Dedication”, another tragedy hit LeVert in March 2008, as Sean LeVert died as unexpectantly as his older brother Gerald, at the age of 39. Finally “Dedication” will be released on Tuesday, July 14, 2009.
