The Faith Community Partnership (FCP) Against HIV/AIDS is a collaboration of local faith communities of various denominations that organized on February 8, 2001, in response to the increasing rise of HIV/AIDS cases in the State of Delaware and surrounding communities. Understanding the unique and powerful presence of faith communities, we believe that they can and should be a useful tool in HIV/AIDS prevention and education while serving as a place of comfort and refuge for those who are infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

The FCP along with AIDS Delaware, The Delaware HIV Consortium, and the Ministry of Caring are the primary sponsors of AIDS Walk Delaware. The FCP and thousands of individuals participate in this event. It is our desire to bring a spiritual presence, caring and concern for all of God’s families who are in need of HIV prevention education and testing, and case management opportunities to prevent the spread of the virus that causes AIDS. We are serious about our outreach efforts. As our friends, co-workers, family, and other organizations sponsor us in the walk, we raise much needed funds to support this work. In addition, AIDS Delaware and The Delaware HIV Consortium, the primary sponsors of the AIDS Walk, will reward our FCP AIDS WALK team with an opportunity to receive a portion of the funds raised. Every 9 ½ minutes, someone in the U.S. is infected with HIV. But who gets infected? They are average people, husbands, wives, aunts, uncles, grandparents, sons and daughters. Even in these difficult economic times, the need is still great. There are more than 20 members of the FCP. Our membership includes: AKA Debutantes, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity (GTL), Bethel A.M.E, Ezion-Mt. Carmel, New Destiny Fellowship, and Victory Christian Fellowship. Start a team or join an existing team now. There are only 32 days before the walk. Contact big_hc@comcast.net for all registration information.
