Last Wednesday, Jordan Hines, candidate for State Senate, announced he will host an official Campaign Kickoff to discuss his platform, a shared vision for Wilmington and how interested parties can get involved with his election efforts. He is running for Delaware’s State Senate to represent the 3rd District in Wilmington.

The Hines for State Senate Campaign Kickoff will take place Saturday, September 23rd from 12:00p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Clarence Fraim Boys and Girls Club at 669 South Union Street Wilmington, DE. For more information visit: www.hinesforsenate.com

Hines, 27, grew up on the East side of Wilmington where a troubled childhood took him from living with his mother to being placed, through foster care, with his grandparents until he turned 18. In a more supportive environment Hines was able to thrive and take an interest in both local and national politics, volunteering on several campaigns including, Diversity for Change Movement, Obama for America, Beau Biden for Attorney General, Velda Jones Potter for State Treasurer, and Ciro Poppiti for Lieutenant Governor.

Aside from politics, Jordan has served as a Robotics Coordinator for F.A.M.E. Inc. to encourage the representation of minorities in Engineering, a Project Director for Christina Cultural Arts Center, and a Legislative Aide for the Register of Wills New Castle County. Most recently Hines worked as a Legislative Policy Analyst for Wilmington’s 107th City Council where he tracked Federal, State and local legislation, and was a liaison to both policymakers in Dover as well as local leaders in Wilmington. He resigned in early August before announcing his intent to seek office.
